Bridal (TTD) shoot at Glen Austin Stables

The word “stables” in Angels’ e-mail should have set off the alarm bells. But this time it did not! Things have really been great for me the last couple of weeks (more about this later on). This sounded like a great opportunity to get out to a nice location without the pressure of delivering on a wedding shoot or any other assignment for that matter. I CONFIRMED, why wouldn’t I?

As I was waiting outside the gate at Glen Austin Stables I could not figure out what was bugging me… Definitely not the shoot, did not leave any appliances on at home, the girls are with Melanie…just my imagination, I thought.

As I mentioned earlier, I have been really busy the last couple of weeks: shoots, design work, editing, my three gorgeous girls and the well timed mid term break. Therefore the shoot was out of mind until the actual day.

As I stepped out of my car, the inevitable happened. Note that I have this minor addiction to anti histamines for a very good reason (cats, horses, dust, polin, grass, did I mention HORSES!!). I sneezed so hard, the skid marks in the dirt must have been 2-3 metres from my car to where I found myself after that “6 on the richter scale” snotplosion. A quick look if there were any unfortunate witnesses to this ghastly spectacle… the coast was clear! Suck it up, Jaco!!!! Nothing you can do now, but hope for tissues, serviettes, bogroll… (T-shirt wise guy…no long sleeves, besides I do have some culture)

…and did I suck it up! I don’t think a single person noticed the slightly red, yet very sparkly eyes, the very gross yet effective, frequent swallowing and the odd sniff (snort when no one was around).

That said and with all the drama I still managed to have an absolute blast spending the afternoon with likeminded individuals doing what I enjoy most…PHOTOGRAPHY!

I had the pleasure of joining a great group of people (all mentioned in the credits) at Glen Austin Stables for a shoot arranged by Angel Conradie of Angels Weddings. Three beautiful horses (add some dust and your left with a sick allergic reaction…just had to mention it again incase you missed it) , 3 fantastic model brides…brilliant!! And last but not least, Angel’s very special and deliciously decadent cupcakes!

PS (believe me, there really were three horses taking part in this shoot, just not so much in mine…)
